Manager - Digital Marketing Strategy will help drive The Associated Press short and long-term digital strategy. As a digital marketing subject matter expert this role will work across departments and cross functionally to help establish and promote the AP’s brand and voice across all digital platforms business and consumer. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience or working knowledge in all aspects of digital marketing. The selected applicant will demonstrate an understanding of, but limited to, the following: Social Media, SEO, Programmatic Advertising, Email and Data Analytics.  

 

Responsibility:

  • Leverage digital analytics tools to analyze, develop, and implement a data-driven strategy across the organization.
  • Actively engage with the AP social media communities (b2b/b2c), and develop social media campaigns including content strategy and implementation schedules.
  • Develop ongoing reports to provide insights into digital performance/engagement across platforms
  • Provide recommendations for improvement in usability, content development and promotion
  • Keep all internal stakeholders up to date by reporting on digital advertising initiatives across multiple channels and platforms.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, assess potential for new platforms, tools and opportunities.
  • Knowledge share and champion a digital first approach across the organization
  • Identify areas of opportunity and amplification for the AP brand and its products.

 

Skills/Knowledge:

  • 5-7 years of experience in the digital marketing field
  • Ability to pitch and develop creative ideas for digital content and initiatives
  • Established history of embracing and unlocking new digital platforms
  • Demonstrated knowledge of digital media tools and platforms
  • Prior experience developing social media strategies/campaigns
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with proven experience on writing, editing and crafting content for social media
  • A willingness and drive to lead from the front and challenge company norms
  • Strong knowledge of internet and web technology
  • Passion for the news – Advancing the Power of Facts
