  • Work nights, weekends and extended hours when news demands

  • Hands-on experience producing video in a global newsroom
  • Exposure to a wide range of coverage including breaking news, politics, international, business, sports and culture
  • Mentorship from experienced video editors and newsroom leaders
  • Experience creating video for multiple platforms and audiences
  • A strong foundation in digital video production and news judgment

What we’re looking for

  • Proficiency with video editing tools. Familiarity with After Effects, Canva or other quick-turn design tools is a plus
  • Interest in news and how video can help audiences understand it
  • Familiarity with social and digital video platforms
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadline pressure
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced newsroom

Preferred
  • Previous experience producing video for digital and social platforms
  • Basic understanding of analytics and video performance
  • Comfort working with engagement data and adapting content accordingly
  • Some familiarity with motion graphics or design templates

Qualifications

  • Ability to work nights and weekends as news demands, particularly during live entertainment coverage
  • Commitment to inclusive storytelling and AP’s standards of fairness and accuracy
