The Associated Press is seeking a Manager, Consumer Revenue Analytics, to develop and execute data-informed strategies that optimize donations and support first-party data initiatives, such as user registration and authentication, that drive donations. This role will leverage data to understand donor behavior, identify growth opportunities, and contribute to lifecycle marketing and personalization efforts. Working closely with the Manager of Business Intelligence & Analytics, as well as product, revenue, and editorial teams, this position will develop strategies that enhance donor engagement and revenue. This is a hybrid role based out of New York City.
Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Insights:
- Analyze donor data from various sources (GA4, Stripe, BlueConic, Zephr) to identify key trends, patterns, and insights related to donor behavior, giving patterns, and campaign performance.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive reports, dashboards, and visualizations that track KPIs related to donation revenue, donor acquisition, and campaign efficacy.
- Translate data insights into recommendations for improving donation strategies, messaging, and engagement tactics.
- Build models of donor data with a focus on donation amounts and frequency.
- Business Intelligence & Strategy:
- Collaborate with the Manager of Business Intelligence & Analytics to align donations revenue data with overall B2C data strategy and data governance policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve data collection methods and data quality related to donor information and donation transactions.
- Support the development and implementation of A/B testing and other experimentation frameworks to optimize donation appeals and landing pages.
- Identify opportunities to leverage data to personalize donor communications and enhance the overall donor experience.
- Support first-party data initiatives that enhance user registration, authentication, and profile management to drive donations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Revenue, Product, and Editorial teams to understand their data needs and provide analytical support for donation-related initiatives.
- Communicate data insights and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, using clear and concise language.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure data pipelines are optimized for performance and reliability.
- Technical & Tool Management:
- Create reports and dashboards in Looker.
- Use GA4 to track website, app, and donor behavior analysis.
- Help manage Zephr implementation.
- Monitor Stripe data pipelines and ensure transaction accuracy.
- Author quality control checks to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data, review procedures, and identify appropriate workflow processes.
- Lifecycle Marketing and Tool Management:
- Support the Senior Manager and Donation Product Manager with tools like Zephr and BlueConic, ensuring that collected data is stored and leveraged effectively to support business objectives.
- Assist in building lifecycle marketing strategies, leveraging collected data to personalize user experiences and drive engagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, marketing, statistics, economics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related role, with a focus on consumer revenue or fundraising.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with CRM tools and marketing automation platforms.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in supporting AP's mission and its journalism.
- Strong understanding of lifecycle marketing, A/B testing, and paid media performance metrics.

Salary & Benefits: The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000 – $130,000, contingent on experience and other job-related factors. The Associated Press offers comprehensive benefits which include:
