The Associated Press is seeking a Benefits Coordinator for its New York headquarters.

The successful candidate is a highly motivated quick learner, looking for a growth opportunity. While this role will focus on retirement plan support, the coordinator must have the ability and willingness to collaborate with the team on all benefit plan administration. This role requires an organized, detail-oriented individual who can interact effectively with global fact sensitive staff.
Reports to the Director of Global Benefits and may work on a hybrid schedule, working from the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with a third in-office day to be added later.
Main responsibilities:
- Benefit plan administration with a focus on retirement plans
- Support Sr. Analyst for retirement plan administration
- Prepare department mailings, interact with current and former employees providing exceptional customer service
- Prepare reports and manipulate data in excel
- Answer employee benefit phone line to assist staff with benefit plan questions, navigating resolutions with vendors, and other inquires
- Complete day to day administrative tasks
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Up to 2 years’ experience in benefit plan administration
- Expert in MS Office Professional Programs
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and balance priorities
- Proven ability to execute effectively
- Prepare queries for reporting; compare files using Access and Excel programs
- Ability to prioritize
Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language is required. Authorization to work in the United States for any employer is mandatory.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $55,000 - $60,000 — contingent on experience and other job-related factors. Employees are eligible to participate, according to the terms of the official plan documents, in a 401(k) plan, employer-sponsored health insurance plan, and are eligible for paid time off and holidays in accordance with AP policy.
