The Associated Press seeks a Junior Treasury Analyst to join the global Treasury. 


Treasury is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the company’s global cash. The department’s mission is to ensure adequate liquidity required to fund company operations through financing activities and to adopt best practices in working capital management.


The Junior Analyst will liaise with both internal and external stakeholders and provide analytical and administrative support to ensure the efficient and effective global daily operation of the department.  This position is a key contributor to the ongoing development of global treasury and directly contributes to the department’s performance.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Record all treasury cash transactions in the SAP ERP system.  Research reconciling items, respond to all related inquiries, distribute monthly posting summaries.
  • Payment queries/research - Confirm payments have been sent and received, track lost payments.  Assist with manual transfers, maintain payment templates.  Aid with credit card receipt inquiries.
  • Daily banking - Ensure bank statements are loaded properly, resolve banking issues.  Provide support and problem solving for internal customers and liaise with banking partners. Distribute monthly statements.
  • Assist with KYC (Know Your Customer) queries
  • Responsible for the monthly foreign bureau funding report
  • Support for online and mobile bank administration - issuance of replacement biometric readers, tokens, track pin numbers
  • Assist with research for internal/external audit queries
  • Handle check printing, remote check deposits, returns
  • Assist with corporate credit card (T&E) administration
  • Assist with petty cash management and bank deposits
  • Pension related transfers and bank account signatory administration (as needed)
  • Ad-hoc Treasury projects as required

There will be the opportunity to study for a Finance apprenticeship.


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Recent hands-on experience in accounting or financial analysis required.  Some treasury experience is a plus.
  • Ability to learn quickly and take initiative
  • Solid analytical skills
  • Excellent oral, written communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to work effectively on an independent basis and in a team environment
  • Detailed oriented and able to handle multiple priorities with conflicting deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on projects as assigned in addition to day-to-day responsibilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • SAP ERP System, Bank of America Cash Pro, and Barclays Internet Banking knowledge a plus training will be provided
  • Adaptability in working hours as needed (Hybrid Work Environment)
  • 5 GCSE level (A to C including English and Maths)
