The Associated Press is seeking a Human Resources Manager to be based in our New Delhi, India office to serve as an HR partner for various counties across in the Asia Pacific region. This role will assist in leading the execution of global HR initiatives that align with the organization's strategic business objectives, while also managing the day-to-day HR responsibilities for each country.

 

This is an exciting time of transformation for the HR team, and we are seeking someone with a desire to develop innovative approaches in support of this transformation. Working in partnership across the HR function, this role will provide support and guidance to management and staff on a wide range of HR related disciplines including employee and labor relations, performance & talent management, organizational design, recruiting, compensation, and learning & development.

 

The successful candidate will be an effective relationship builder at all levels of the organization; have a proactive approach and exercise sound judgment with the ability to influence both leadership and line staff to manage risk. Building and maintaining knowledge of the business short- and long-term plans will be a key to success. 

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Serve as local HR support for the Global HR Business Partners. Collaborate with local senior leadership teams across various divisions to provide HR expertise that supports global business objectives.
  • With direction from the HR headquarters office in the U.S., translate and implement global HR strategies in India and the Asia Pacific Region, ensuring alignment with local business needs and legal requirements. Partner with global teams to ensure seamless execution of strategic initiatives.
  • With direction from the VP of Human Resources, manage local HR projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with strategic goals. Use project management skills to coordinate across multiple regions and teams.
  • Analyze global HR metrics and trends to identify opportunities for improvement. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to both local and global leadership teams.
  • Support the development and implementation of global talent and succession planning strategies, ensuring the local workforce is integrated into broader talent management efforts.
  • Provide guidance on global employee relations issues, working with local HR teams across different regions to ensure consistency in approach while adhering to local laws.

 

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate must have eight (8+) years of progressive human resources experience including three (3+) years as a business partner supporting a global client base across multiple international geographies and cultures. 
  • 2+ years of experience working in a media or news company a plus.
  • Experience solving complex employee relations issues.
  • Knowledge of employment law and general compliance on a global scale.
  • The candidate must have exceptional communication skills, coupled with strong analytical and consulting skills.
  • Candidate must be able to manage relationships remotely and have previous experience supporting clients and employee base in off-site locations.
  • BS/BA or equivalent experience required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to translate ideas/concepts into creative documents and presentations is required.

 

This position will be managed from AP’s US office and the successful applicant would be based in New Delhi, India.
