The Associated Press seeks an experienced video news producer to join its global newsroom in London. Reporting to the Head of Production, the producer will work on AP’s global output of video content for customers around the world. The role is responsible for fast-turnaround video edits and written summaries on the top news stories of the day.

 

Responsibilities: The producer will gather video content from live and recorded sources, and produce video edits, shot lists and scripts. They will be responsible for visually engaging journalism, delivered with accuracy and speed, in a fast-paced environment and in collaboration with AP colleagues and partners worldwide.

 

AP focuses on major breaking and developing news across all hours of the global news cycle. The producer will join a team schedule with a rotating pattern, including day, night, and weekend shifts. AP is currently a hybrid workplace, with some days worked in the office and some worked at home (subject to change).

 

 

Requirements:

  • Experience as a video news producer in a fast-paced environment.
  • Keen interest in global current affairs and strong news judgement.
  • Commitment to telling diverse and inclusive stories that reflect society.
  • Visual storytelling abilities and experience.
  • Superior technical skills in video production and editing.
  • Professional competency in English language news writing to picture.
  • Fluent in spoken English. Additional languages are advantageous.
  • Communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse team of colleagues.
  • Understanding of global news industry and audiences.
  • Journalism qualification, or equivalent training and industry experience.
