The Associated Press is seeking a newsroom coordinator to work in our global video newsroom in London. This is an operational role that supports newsroom managers and journalists with administration and organisation.


Responsibilities:  The newsroom coordinator is responsible for maintaining a 24/7 workforce by scheduling staff and contracting freelancers across international locations. This involves writing rosters, onboarding new starters, allocating online tools, organising training, and processing payments. The newsroom coordinator also maintains press accreditation and data storage for the department.


The position is ideal for an administrator who has experience of booking personnel or facilities on an international basis. Knowledge of scheduling software is useful. Experience of basic accounting is required, including tracking budgets and processing expense claims. We are looking for someone highly organized, who can be creative and resourceful in a fast-changing environment. The role needs a clear and confident communicator, able to liaise with colleagues at all levels.

  • Educated to A level or equivalent


The newsroom coordinator is based in London and works a five-day week. AP is currently a hybrid workplace, with some days worked in the office and some worked at home (subject to change).
